The Director of the Department represents the Department, promotes its activities and is responsible for its operation.

He is responsible for the quality of the research of the Department and in particular:

• proposes the Department's Research Quality Policy in line with the University's Research Quality Policy;
• prepares, jointly with the Research Commission (if present) and with the Department Board, the annual and three-year research plans of the Department;
• identifies and implements actions that allow the achievement of the Department's research objectives;
• supervises the compilation of the SUA-RD form, including the annual and three-year reviews.
