BIOANTH – BIOlogical ANThropology and dental Histology

The BIOANTHBIOlogical ANThropology and dental Histology is a facility for the analysis and study of the microstructure of deciduous and permanent teeth funded by the European Research Council (ERC Starting Grant Project MOTHERS, G.A. no. 101077348 to Prof Alessia Nava).

The laboratory is equipped for (1) tooth thin sectioning and (2) histological analysis of dental tissue 

The laboratory is equipped with:

  • ZEISS Axio Imager M2 optical microscope in X,Y,Z, coupled to a Z8 HP workstation and ZEISS AxioCam 507 camera;

  • A ZEISS Primostar 3 optical microscope with a coupled ZEISS AxioCam 208 camera and associated monitor;

  • High-capacity workstation HP Z8 G5 Intel® Xeon® Gold (64GB RAM) and associated monitor;

  • Buehler Isomet Low Speed cut-off machine equipped with a 300 μm diamond blade;

  • ARGOLab Ultrasonic Cleaner AU-32;

  • ARGOlab M2-A magnetical stirrer;

  • FALC water purification systems 15 Lt – BASIC;

  • one refrigerator.
